I'd be much better about cleaning out my PMs if it wasn't so cumbersome. Hit "x" > "are you sure?" screen > Yes > "Message has been deleted" screen > auto-load back to inbox

I wish I could just hit "delete" or "x" and it would just delete and go to the next PM down the line.

It would also be nice if each PM string was its own thread (like gmail) rather than each PM being individually listed in the inbox.

I've found that saving the most recent PM and deleting all of the prior PM's for a given topic to/from a given person, I have inadvertently deleted almost all of the history of the PM "conversation". I think it would be a lot better for users and for EB if you could keep a PM string by merely saving the most recent PM.
I always defer to someone who's wearing a beater, regardless of what else he's wearing.

You can, can't you? My most recent PM from a "conversation" always has the older PMs below the newest one.

Until those pieces are deleted from their original pm. Saving all as one pm would be a fantastic change.

Good to know.

And while I agree this would be a fantastic change, I think a more convenient deletion process would be fantastic-er.

Is there any kind of search function at all for PMs? At least a way to search/sort by sender?

Do ya really need to go through each one manually? Just mark em and choose delete marked.

I'm lazy about PMs and can't always remember what they're all about. I need to read a lot of them to be sure I didn't drop the ball somewhere along the way.

So my inbox has gotten a bit ooc, and i'm a bit ocd...so is there a way to make some changes to the inbox that would make things much simpler to use the PM feature on here?

My suggestions:

nesting, or whatever you call it - so that all PMs with that subject line are in one place. once you click on the most recent PM, you can see the whole chat history...but then it'd be nice if all the other PMs fell into that one message instead of having every single PM individually in your inbox.

alternating color lines - like a white and grey alternating color scheme so it's easier for your eyes to scan across the screen and still know which message you're looking at.

That's all I've got for now.

Thanks!

oops...didn't see you'd already started this.

Mods, can we merge these threads?

Also, another suggestion -- putting the "Mark" button on the left as opposed to the right of the message. This would make it muuuuuuuuuuuch easier to go through a lot of messages and decide which ones to delete.

to be honest, we don't have any plans for site redesign in the near future. we do look over the suggestions and compile them for when we do decide to update. we appreciate the input.

a search feature is #1 on my list.

How annoying are the emails that you got a PM!!!

I haven't gotten one in like 2 years even though I had the box checked. Now today I got like 2200 emails saying I had a PM. Wtf!!!
Same fudge, different drop.
