I don't think this can already be done, but it would be cool if you could search for posters by band and city. I see that you can search by venue, but sometimes you may not know the venue, and venues can change over time.

Seeing as how the venue and city are tied to a single field, I don't think that this is a likely thing to happen. It would mean adding in another field to the entries (city) and then editing every EB entry to this point to fill that field in. Don't think that this will be very likely...

I often search by city by putting the city name in the "text" field on the search page.

For entries in the "standard EB form" a simple script could be used to create the CITY-STATE field, for entries not in the standard form, someone will have to do it manually.

It would have been nice to do this a long time ago, before the task became so large, but I think a good script could get 90% done in seconds.

I would be in favor of this if it was possible. I'd like to be able to search by State too.

oh hey, I'm just guessing! even if 90% are done automatically, that's still hundreds of corrections to make. . .

and what about the WIKI?

I fear we may be too late to make this change.

In the meantime, you can always search keywords. Doesn't always work, but sometimes it does.

Disagree. I would say it's more of a "popular favorite". . . I use the firefox search bar a heck of a lot, but it does not replace the killer ADVANCED SEARCH when I need to get to the bottom of something.

I have been wishing for this option ever since I first found out about this site! I came to the suggestion forum because I was going to suggest this, I can't believe there is actually a recent thread about it. If this is at all possible It defiantely gets my vote! If I can help in anyway I would be happy to volunteer my time to help complete this. Lets do it!
