What is it for?
This is a mailing list to notify the other EB'ers when a new release for a particular artist is announced or especially at the moment it is up for purchase. It is up to the mailing list member's to send the PM's. It is pointless to have a list if nobody in the list send PM's to it when a new release happens. Like any list, just try not to send in duplicate messages. It is not for conversations. We have a forum for that. Please include the links so people can click it and get the print.

To receive the group messages
In the user control panel, join the "Artist Releases" group.

To send a message to the group
Create a new PM.
Select "Artist Releases" in the list on the right.
Click "Add" button.
Type message
Send

All mailing lists will be created with a strict anti-spam policy that results in an immediate ban for spammers.

To reply to the person who sent the message
Click the Reply Button
Click the X next to the Artists Releases recipient on the to line. This will help reduce the noise level of the mailing list by not sending your thank you to the whole group.


How to create a the group
Reply to this thread requesting one for an artist. When enough people petition for it, we will create it.

Group removal
We can remove a group without notice for any reason we desire. However, we will most likely only remove a group if it is not used or it is causing the volunteers undo hassle.

I don't see a artists releases group in the userpanel..

The only existing group is obey.

the message sounded like there was going to be a general releases group.. i thought that would be useful..

That may get over used. over-used = useless

I sent you a pm a while back about possibility of using twitter alerts..

the thing I find difficult with the regular alerts on here is the message body not being in the email notification.. I have rules set up on my mail to fwd messages from EB to my cell via SMS and it's great for alerting me there's a msg.. but I then need to log into the site to read it..

its like you people still haven't learned the difference with reply to and reply to all in emails.

When I saw Blake used the reply to everyone option, I knew he had just done what I thought of doing for a bit.. the «Dear Donkeys,» gave me a good laugh...

Mailing list worked like a charm for the Obey Giant "Love Unites" release. Thanks again!

Sold out in about 8 minutes, by my clock....
