don't know if it would be possible, but it might increase the use of EB Jabber if there were some kind of online/offline indicator on the web pages, forum or otherwise...

I had thought of this. I had hoped it would replace the PM feature. The problem I have not worked through is how to deal with the storage. I mean PM's keep messages until you delete them, while IM's keep messages until you read them. I would love to bridge the gap between the worlds, but I am still at a technical impass.
