I've tried to do this for years. I always have issues. I need someone to talk to me in the simplest possible terms. For example not just resize it.

I have microsoft paint. It has a resize button. Has vertical and horizontal pixels also a button for maintain aspect ratio. What should I type in in order to reduce the file size of a picture so I can post on here. If anyone has any better ways that they can tell me simply how to do I'm all for it.

Appreciate it.

Heh, haven't we had like a thousand PMs about this?

There's no magic number for height and width. The magic number is the file size of the image. If the image is over 1MB, the DB won't allow it to be uploaded. So, depending on the complexity of the image, the amount of compression, etc, one image could have much larger dimensions and still be under 1MB vs. another image. Typically around 1000px on the shorter side will do it, but sometimes it won't and you just have to shrink it a bit more. I don't know what more I can really explain that I haven't already. :(

Here's some information (some of which you already know) on how I resize photo images in Paint. Hope this is helpful.

My camera default saves images as 1944px X 2592px (which is way too large.) Go to RESIZE.

Deleting the first number on the largest side (in this case 'vertical' is where I start when resizing.) Maintain aspect ratio will take care of the 'horizontal' ratio.

You can also use PROPERTIES to switch UNITS. Once open, scroll down and click PROPERTIES.

Under UNITS - Select Pixels. Click OK.

Here's additional information. This also shows an example - changing pixels to inches options. You can also keep an eye on the FILE SIZE in the bottom frame after making adjustments
