Should EB Remove - Private Commish / Not For Sale Items
I have a concern and would like replies and/or discussions on the subject:
Should the EB Forum be utilized for placement of art items/prints that are in the categories of:
- Not for Public Sale
- Private Commissions
When I read the EB Mandate – “We provide a wealth of information about graphic art including dimensions, edition size, medium and technique, eBay auction tracking, past and current sales histories, price averages, and much more. We are committed to free public memberships which include personal collection tracking, buying, selling and trading art, EB's matchmaker function, forums, email notifications, and other options.”
How can the majority of this data be utilized/collected and placed in the EB Marketplace, if the item itself never actually comes to Market?

Yes, they should be added. People are always trading and selling them. No different than a gallery exclusive or low edition prints. I don't even see why this would be an issue to anyone. If you have a problem with anything being added to the database, it should be cheese cutters and frisbee golf discs.

What is your definition of "comes to Market?"TSgtJedi wrote:

Many of these pieces that are commissioned are available through this site, ie:

And many do hit the secondary market and are available on eBay or in the trades/for sale here, so they do "come to Market." in multiple ways.
Yea lock it up. It's art, it should be recorded...

Yup. Hell... I wish EB would start logging more records. It's super convenient to keep track of all my fudge.

I was thinking about getting a pair of dirty underwear signed by Jock so that I could add it to the database.
