I didn't donate to the last call for funds as I was tight on funds then. I am happy to donate in the future, provided there is an actual developer who can be trusted, not some bloke off fiverr.

Thanks Mfaith and Whalaw for your efforts to keep this place alive. The money I donated a year ago or so for the rebuild, I would have donated anyway for all the benefits the current site provides. I think many of you who had donated to the fundraiser to facilitate a new and improved ebeans and have become upset or angry that nothing's been done, would have donated anyway, because people care and know a site like this, non-advertising based, needs a consistent stream of money coming in just to maintain the day-to-day operations.

Anyway I'd be happy to contribute money or prints for fresh efforts to rehabilitate the Beans.

nearly all these developer horror stories I've seen end up with a truth often surrounding a bad brief and/or non-payment

Thanks for grabbing things by the scruff of the neck, whalaw! I think you're doing the hardest part - facing up to the problems and trying to solve things.

I'd definitely chip in more money rather than see the site dissolved. I hope some of the expertise being offered by members is taken up, even if it's not technical and just in managing a project like this (e.g. milestone payments for the developer?). Good luck and thanks again.

100% agree. Someone would be willing to take it over.

So y'all paid someone 100% up front, despite not having any legal recourse if anything went wrong?

Is Scamar going to keep hiding, or will he comment publicly on the situation? I have a hard time believing he is that incompetent. Following board traditions, perhaps someone should contact his employer?

Please give the site to mfaith. He's the only one that seems to give a fudge anymore.

Hopefully at least a couple people on the BOD are familiar with website development.

If this site is dissolved then what happens to Mondo?
