Opening bid on 27a was originally set at $100...probably inconsequential but I thought I should mention...
Thanks for pointing this out. I know someone lowered their opening bid requirement on some item in the auction from $100 to $60 and then there was a bid. I know that item 27 here drew a $60 bid prior to the current $75 bid. Can someone check back in the thread to see if the item I'm vaguely referring to is item #27? Whatever item whose opening bid was reduced, was done so in conjunction with the donor requesting me to do that. If the item whose price was reduced was an item other than #27, then we will be in a position to hold item #27 in abeyance until contacting the donor to see if it's OK for this one to go to a winning bid of less than they mandated when donating the item.

Item Number = 27a-UStoEurope
Opening Bid = $100
Chris has asked that the Opening bid for this poster be dropped to $60 so it gets into the mix.
No problem. Let's step up, folks!
It was this one.
Quote taken from page 24 of thread.
sez752's bid is valid.

Fair question: Unfortunately, the next bid list to be posted will be after the auction ends. We assume that anyone interested in bidding on items can refer to last night's bid listing status and manually track bids on those items since then, in order to know what the current bid is on any item(s) of interest. I'll state again that the management and operation of this auction has been completely manual. Therefore, it's not possible for me to post an update at the last minute. I trust everyone can keep up with the item or 3 they are interested in bidding on.

Final auction close reminder: At 8:00pm Eastern time, the auction will enter shut down mode. That is, after 8:00pm, I will end the auction as soon as there is a consecutive period of 15 minutes with no valid bids on any item. I’ll post THE AUCTION IS OVER to formally end the auction. I’ll do my best to be accurate in ending the auction, but I may be off by a minute or so. In any event, the auction only ends when I post THE AUCTION IS OVER. If bids continue into the night and I nod off for a few hours, the auction is still on until I regain consciousness and post THE AUCTION IS OVER, regardless of whether there are any periods of 15 consecutive minutes without any bids. If a late bid gets in as I’m posting THE AUCTION IS OVER, all such “beat the clock” bids count, because they will have been posted before my THE AUCTION IS OVER post. As I mentioned last night in my nightly summary, I am all powerful in ending the auction, in the same manner as the Wizard of Oz was omnipotent. In other words, I really have no power, but perception is reality, so it is best if everyone assumes I am all powerful.
