I had the same thought. I don't own any vinyl figures like this, is there a "real" reason it would cost so much? I would have though this would be the simplest of the toys they've announced.

Because it's the print we deserve, but not the one we need right now. So we'll hunt it.

Let's not start sucking each other's dicks quite yet.

I'd like one of the Mikey's, but $105 seems kinda ridiculous. I'll probably end up folding and grabbing one, but I'll be shocked if the Iron Giant is under $300, which will keep me from even thinking about buying one. So I got that going for me. Which is nice.

I was definitely expecting around the $60-$70 range, but whatevs, I grabbed one anyway. I think I'm just used to paying stupid amounts of money for expensive collectibles (I'm looking at you Hot Toys).

I was thinking the same that $105 seems high... then I started researching and man, vinyl toys are all over the market. Some 10-12" ones are around $20 bucks and there are others that are 12" that go for $150 or more so I'm sure they did their research on it...

Either way I can't justify dropping that much on it. But it is pretty damn cool.

I've been buying vinyl toys for a while now. Primarily from KidRobot. I guess I was expecting the Mondo pricing to be more in line with what I've seen from KR. However the Lil' Mikey sculpt looks a lot more intricate then most of the stuff I've seen in the past from KidRobot. Makes me wonder if there would have been a cheaper way to manufacture it. But whatever. I didn't want this figure anyway, I've been holding out for the Iron Giant figure. Based on what we see here the Giant is likely to be way more then I'd be willing to spend. Oh well.

This is an example of Mondo thinking they're bigger than they are. In the toy world they're just small fish in a big pond.

105 for a toy is not going to go over well in the vinyl world.

I hope that with high prices, they can do what Sideshow does and let you pay in installments.

Are there any toy forums with threads talking about Lil Mikey? I'm not into that scene, but curious what people have to say that follow this on the day to day.

I don't even bother with Mondo anymore. They're turning into the Target of art

So $300.00 or $315.00 for the limited version of IG ($15 extra for a larger, disembodied hand).

Curious about what the more dedicated toy/statue collector community thinks (I'm only on the fringe 'cuz I'm not cool enough/poor enough already). Given the price and that it's just shy of being a quarter scale figure I imagine it's really about hitting a small niche in the market...

I only really collect 3A stuff, but I feel like this could have been done just as well at a much lower MSRP by a dedicated toy company. IG isn't that complex a design, really, even with all the light-up stuff. I could be wrong, though.
