Ugh I really want to like it - got through half of the first episode and the acting just seems so flat, especially from Ford. The scene at the bar when he's flirting with Debbie(?) was painful, felt like they were reading right off a script
That's kind of the appeal to his character. He understands serial killers because, based on his actions and demeanors, he knows he could have possibly become one himself. His social interactions are weird, but they get better and people constantly make jokes about it, especially his partner.

Just started Mindhunter tonight and really enjoying it. I can't believe they mentioned the Cincinnati strangler aka Posteal Laskey. He was a local cab driver here back in the 60's and my aunt told me a story one time about how she got in a cab with him and it didn't register who it was until he told her his name and she saw his arrest on the news years later. Thankfully he died in prison back in 2007 of natural causes but that was too good of a death for him.

The Wheelman came out today. Looks good. Hoping it offers something different than The Driver and Drive. Anyone checked it yet?

I caught it at Fantastic Fest and liked it. It's a decent driver movie. Shades of Locke, Drive, etc. Frank Grillo is solid.

Mindhunter was So good!!

Hope they can't keep it good and not go down the same road True Detective did in season 2.

If you're a Joan Didion fan the new documentary 'Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold' is really well done.

Yeah, I liked that.

Boys in Trees is good for folks looking for a Halloween movie. Not scary scary, more like a Stranger Things vibe.

Anyone done a slasher? I started on the second storyline/season, and I'm finding it strangely captivating. It's campy and B+ grade horro, but it's got some Steven king and agitha christie vibes to it.
