Great look at the war on drugs. Half from the criminals perspective, half from the police. Not sure how the makers got access to some of the criminals but damn there is some serious footage in there. Good watch if you're into true crime as much as I am.

Thanks for the recommendation, I just finished this last night. I'm not sure if you're aware or not but Season 2 is up as well. Not a bad show. I liked how each episode focused on a different drug and different city.

Haven't gotten around to season 2 yet, but the wife and I were a fan of season 1.

Season 2 is absolutely fantastic. Really freaking funny. The chemistry between Barrymore and Olyphant is fire. Great tempo and great writing.

Watch it! :D
This show is well written for what it is. Wasn't sure how they would pull off this season, but it may have been better than the first. Prolly doesn't hurt that I am quite familiar with the area so I get all of the "inside" jokes.

The Staircase is long and meandering and ultimately not very rewarding.

Is it an update to the old staircase? I really liked the original.

Maybe that's the issue. I didn't expect this to be 13 episodes. After about episode 8, each time one ended and a new began, I would say, "How many more of these are there?"

Just got through watching all of Staircase.

SPOILERS:
The show seemed to be pro Michael. Unless i completely missed something during the trial footage that was shown... At the end when Kathleen's sister went on that rant she mentioned there were strangulation marks on Kathleen's neck and a bloody foot print on the back of her shorts? None of that was mentioned in the previous episodes. Seems like we were only told half the story. I will say that the defense seemed to rip apart any witnesses the prosecution put up there and i was totally got off guard when he was ruled guilty based on the footage we were shown.
