The sweeping shot during the final battle that goes by all the major characters was drymounting amazing on like 10 levels. That shit was incredibly done.

3-D IMAX is almost too much overload to be honest ... my wife had to leave the theater halfway through and was down and out. I'm waaaay too wired right now myself.

Very fun movie for sure. I didn't expect all of the high-tech SHIELD stuff - not being well read in the comics. I did expect this movie to be told through the eyes of Cap, per interviews with Whedon, but wasn't the case at all.

No denying that final act was def very Transformers3-ish. I thought Loki was awesome, but all the characters nailed their roles ... with maybe Samuel L being the weakest.

Loved seeing my city's imprint all over this movie ... it stood in well as Germany, and as well getting the shit beat out of it as a stunt double for NYC.

Solid start for for movie's so far this year, haven't seen a clunker yet. :pint:

I will say that Joss has made a great transition into huge budget films, he really did a great job with not only the direction but the writing with this one as well. He was able to bring all the characters together in a really cohesive fashion I thought the chemistry was great. Hawkeye kind of gets lost in the film but I was ok with that. Hulk gets the trophy for most crowd pleasing moments, I loved him flopping Loki around and his fights with Thor and the big eel were great.

Easily the best of the Marvel films. I was never big into Avengers comics, more of an X-Men guy so I am interested to hear what some die-hard Avengers fans thought of this.

I thought the same thing. That shot really hammered home just how impressive this effort was, especially when you contrast it with the action sequences during some of the other big budget Hollywood blockbusters. The whole battle at the end of the movie was such well-controlled and well-choreographed chaos that it was a joy to watch. I'm not typically a fan of overblown action (wanted to gouge my eyes out during Transformers 3), but I loved every second of the Avengers. And that was my favorite shot in the movie... not to be confused with my favorite scene in the movie which, unsurprisingly, was Hulk and Loki.

I couldn't stop laughing for a while throughout the last few amazing Hulk moments. Also, I'm into Ruffalo. So that helped.

YES! Just awesome. HULK stole the show for me throughout most of the battle scene. Mark Ruffalo did a phenomenal job. I can't see how anybody could have done better. The "I'm always angry " bit was pure gold. :pint:

My wife has agreed to go see it as well based on the overwhelming support the movie is getting from all sorts of groups. We'll be again on Friday for our anniversary... can't wait.

That was probably the most amazing scene for me to watch. It really helped promote the team aspect of it, with everyone helping each other and coming in and out of scene. I've been out of the theater for 4 hours now, and have only stopped talking about it long enough to enjoy my tacos.
Freaking amazing!

My favorite scene was when Ironman and Thor were getting into an epic battle fighting each other and ending with Thor slamming the hammer into Captain America's shield. That part and when Thor whacked Hulk with a vicious uppercut. That was classic.

Great great film. Just got back from seeing it with my wife on IMAX 3D and we both loved it. The Loki-smash scene was pure Whedon gold.
