Did anyone else watch Patrick Melrose on Showtime!? I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts.

How bout Succession on HBO? Haven’t heard much chatter about that either. So far the show can be summarized with “all the richest, most punchable and entitled white people you’ll meet in your life”

Sharp Objects on HBO, I saw some mixed reviews (didn't read them in depth) but I really liked the first episode. Flashbacks are intense, the show seems fairly dark, and the sound is really affecting combined with what you're seeing on the screen.

'Succession' is trash unfortunately. Acting is sub par and you never actually believe that all the family have been top 1% their entire lives. People of that kind of wealth have a certain gravitas and all of the characters have no screen presence. There really isn't a bad guy, and dialogue is strained and obnoxious. They are not even the kind of cast that you wanna hate but still seduced by their underhanded scheming. Just weak all round.

On the other hand 'Sharp Objects' reminded me a lot of the first episode of True Detective S1. Has a particular haze dripping through it, interesting flashbacks, definitely dark and creepy in nature and the acting is aces. It was slow but I am sure it is building and deals with hard elements like self-harm and killings. That Mom is way too creepy but that house rocks.

New Star Trek was pretty good up until the cool kingdom died and they found the pot bellied dragonrat that can sniff out star systems. Jesus.

Just came across the trailer for Hulu's CASTLE ROCK. Wow, looks really good. I'll be checking out for sure. Premier's July 25th.

I've watched the first couple of S1 episodes of 'Detroiters'. It's pretty good.

I will confess that I liked 'Orville'. It's corny as hell, but has some humorous writing that I can relate to.

Looks like Season 8 is Apocalypse https://deadline.com/2018/07/american-h ... 202430062/
Creator Ryan Murphy previously said that Season 8 would be a “crossover” with Murder House (Season 1) and Coven (Season 3). “It’s a season unlike anything we’ve done because there’s a big hook to it. There’s a huge thing that happens in episode 5.”

While working on the pc, I've been doing a re-watch of S2 'The 'Man In The High Castle'. I discovered that there was a lot that I missed on the first watch of the season. It's such a good story and is definitely worth watching again.

Sadly, according to what I've read, S3 will not air until Fall...not sure why the delay.

I haven't even gotten around to watching Season 2 of THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE. I need to go back and rewatch Season 1. I enjoyed it, heard Season 2 was getting released, and then completely forgot about it.

SNOWFALL started up again on FX this week. Not a bad start. Anybody else watching it?

With a Fall, (rumored October), airing of S3, you have plenty of time to catch up. I read that they've already been given the go-ahead for S4.

If you have not watched it, HUMANS on AMC has been really good. Just finished season 3. It has a lot of the same topics as Westworld, but actually gets to the drymounting point...
