the way the Trump presidency is starting out, I have to believe the writers are just like "drymount it we cant compete with this..."

Legion had a pretty drymounting good pilot ep. Definitely worth a look.

I agree. Have no idea on the backstory of the comic, so coming into it fresh.

Wondering how they will fold some of the comic backstory into it but really digging it so far.

Will be interesting to also see further comments about mental illness.
