yeah.

i will say this. winter overall is a more streamlined and sensible story. but its climax is a little too showy and over the top for me. which is fine.

Civil War is more of a drama and the climax is an emotional climax that has some interesting ebb and flow to it throughout the whole film and ends with brother fighting brother. Zimo wins in the end, which again makes it something different and interesting dramatically.

Also. Airport fight is pretty pretty prettttyyyy dope.

But it's an avengers film more than it is a cap film.

I'm a big CW fan, but I just think WS sits far above all other MCU movies (GOTG being the other film at the top for obviously very different reasons.)

The airport scene is pretty fantastic, I'll give you that. But the highway chase/fight in WS, man, tough to beat.

yeah. I wouldn't put it in FAR ahead of all the other films. But it's easily one of the best ones.

it's a solid action movie that elevates its material and characters.

Which is always a plus with big budget tentpole films.

giving the mcu a rewatch before infinity war. will see if i notice more the next go round.

Chris evan's as Cap is still one of my favorite things about the MCU. On paper his character and execution shouldn't be as good as it is. But Evans just grounds Steve in such a way that you never feel like he is grandstanding....at least most of the time.

Black Panther was decent. It was the best out of all of the Marvel movies that I have seen* and it had a stellar cast.

*I went with friends and I think I need to just give up on these movies. I'm not into the Marvel flicks, I've only seen 3-4 of them and disliked them all (besides this one). I really glaze over 2 minutes into a scene of nothing but CGI and characters being thrown across the city and into a building. Feels like, if you've seen one you've seen them all.

WS over CW for me, but it's close. I rewatched CW the other day and it gets better each time I see it. The way it pulls your allegiances is pretty strong. The whole accords are silly to me simply because the concept is full of holes, so initially Cap's stance is a no-brainer, but by the end, I'm hashtag team Stark because...bro...his mom.

Iron Man 1 + 2
The Incredible Hulk
Avengers - Age of Ultron
Doctor Strange
Black Panther

BP was easily the best of those I have seen. Perhaps I'm not watching the best ones. People seem to dig the Captain America series.

Yeah other than black panther and iron man 1 those are kinda the bad ones.

Check out the Cap Films.
Guardians 1 & 2
Avengers 1

Those are the better ones.

Jan Svankmajer's latest (and last) film, Insects, just debuted and will be available for early backers of the indiegogo campaign. Colour me very, very excited.

ANNIHILATION

Visually, a stunning film with a very interesting story that you keep anticipating what's next. A somewhat slow burn but a mind trip of an ending. I'm a huge Natalie Portman fan and she always brings a dominating performance to her work. In addition, I'm also a big fan of Oscar Isaac who similarly delivers a brilliant performance. Many fans were pleased with writer/director Alex Garland's previous work, EX MACHINA and I'm sure they will with this as well. While I did like EX MACHINA (not as much as some of the other critics), I personally enjoyed this more. I would definitely need to see it again to digest that ending. 7.5/10
