Overall, 2017 seemed like a decent year? Hope I didn't steal your thunder for thread-creating RA!

I think so. Most years there are at least 50-60 movies I like and 2017 was no different. I'm having a more difficult time ranking the 2017 releases than most years.

What all is coming in 2018? Not sure what my most anticipated film is yet. I'm looking forward to The Incredibles 2 (and hope it does the original justice).

Im more excited than i should be for Sicario 2. Sad they are loosing Emily Blunt and Denis (and Rodger Deakins). But could be a fun action flick if done right.

Great year. I saw 50+ releases from 2017 and thought at least 90% of those were well worth watching.

2018 looks to be very promising. Looking forward to:
The Son (Villeneuve)
Annihilation (Garland)
Aisle of Dogs (Wes Anderson)
The Favourite (Lanthimos)
The House that Jack Built (Von Trier)
Suspiria (Guadagnino)
If Beale Street Could Talk (Jenkins)
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (Coens)
The Irishman (Scorsese)
Mute (Jones)
Under the Silver Lake (Mitchell)
Ready Player One (Spielberg)
The Nightingale (Kent)
Blessed Virgin (Verhoeven)
First Man (Chazelle)
Hold the Dark (Saulnier)
The Third Murder (Koreeda)
Everybody Knows (Farhadi)
Mary Madelene (Davis)
Mary Shelley (Al-Mansour)

Excellent list! Thanks for posting. I tend to look back instead of ahead and didn't know about many of those (excitement creeping in!). Cool to see the directors paired up with the titles even if I don't know what they're about (prefer it that way).

Is Iannucci's The Death of Stalin getting a proper release? Saw it at Fantastic Fest and I very much look forward to watching it again.

You're welcome.
I know The Death of Stalin is getting a small release here at the end of this month. Not sure about the US.

It's listed on Letterboxd as 2018, but I'm not really sure.

Also, here's a list I found the other day for 2018 releases:
