RA is right. RN is wrong.

I really like where this thread has gone. And to think, I questioned it's usefulness at first.

Covenant was terrible. Also Ridley is pretty smug for a guy that hasn't directed a good movie since Prometheus. 2049 ruled and Denis a beast. Can't wait to see what he does with Dune. Alien & BR are god tier but Denis much more consistent of a director.

Covenant was exactly as cheesy and nonsense as an 'Alien' film should have been. Prometheus was interesting but is a separate beast (pun intended).

Trying to link the two separate concepts is exactly why both films were uneven and not as good as they could have been. Low brow thrills and high brow concepts are like oil and water with this film series.

Ridley also may have felt threatened by Bloomkamps attempt to reinvent the series and so rushed to block him, resulting in AC feeling unfinished in many regards...

I think they canceled the Covenant 2.

Loved Prometheus, Loved Covenant, I like seeing the set up of the motives behind David/Ash.

Ridley was and still is a legend but he's definitely in the old curmudgeon category these days.

Prometheus is a good idea with terrible execution.
