Indeed. No liquids and extra midichlorian vitamins.

Prolly cuz it's the same movie just like TFA was the same as ANH.

ANH was better, though. Hopefully it's better than TFA... reviews sound promising but we heard the same song and dance a few years ago, ha.

I had no idea it was already coming out.

Definitely temper your expectations. Those people calling it the best Star Wars movie ever say that after every Star Wars movie (they can't help themselves).

I enjoyed watching it. Most people will really like it.

I'm still mulling it over. While I enjoyed it, I'm not crazy about the story or how it's all unfolding. It's seems like there's no master plan for the series and I get the feeling that they're winging it. My wife asked me what I liked about it and I had a hard time listing much.

I will be in the minority and most folks will love it.

Star Wars movies remind me of that line in the American President about drinking the sand. People don't know the difference...

Remember, everybody thought TFA was a great movie when it was released (it's not).

edit- I also kind of feel like they don't understand the force. They treat it like some super power from a Marvel film.

Also, it feels like Star Wars Jr. or McStar Wars or something.

(I don't mean to sound negative, but I do wish I liked it more and I think the fanboys that declare every SW movie the best do us all a disservice by swaying expectations to an unreasonable level without providing any insight or nuance. I definitely didn't like it as much as any of the original trilogy or Rogue One.)

RA, your initial response is how every SW film sits with me upon viewing it. Its almost like I am in shock just because I saw a new SW gospel, and am having a hard time processing.

Ultimately the OT was lightning in a bottle, for several reasons, and those initial feelings are long gone and cannot be duplicated. However, based on first reactions, the fact that this one tries to do things much differently, has me more excited than I normally would be. SW has to keep changing and not redoing itself, and while I get you on the modern takes on the force, they are also trying to appeal to the general dumdum superhero moviegoer in this era of blockbuster film, so on that level...I get it.

RA is a bit too "high-brow" of a film lover to love a Star Wars movie, so take his review with a grain of salt

THIS

When you’ve seen it once through without worrying about having to pee for the whole movie it’s much more enjoyable.
