Even if the singular stories are a cash grab, it's a Star Wars cash grab and under Disney I have no problem with that considering the quality that R1 was.

Was R1 necessary? Of course not. But I love the film and am happy it exists.

Yeah, I really did enjoy R1, but it overdid everything, too many characters, plot lines, etc...when we all know the ending heading in. It was good, with some amazing moments, just very mediocre as a whole.
I will say that the space battle scenes in R1 where MUCH better than TFA (which felt like meaningless video game cutscenes).

I also think a Star Wars movie without the jedi or the force as a main element/centerpiece of the story just feels different after 7 movies of just that.

Ate the edible 30 minutes ago, blazed a log in the parking lot, secured popcorn, plain mnms and sprite and am now in a recliner chair at the theater. My body is ready.

So is this thread spoiler free?

I liked Force Awakens as I left the cinema, and haven't watched it since. The more I thought about it, the more I disliked it.

Rogue one I've watched a few times and like a lot more.

Last Jedi I liked because it didn't rely on obvious nods all the time or twee comic relief. It had some very poignant shots and scenes and overall, however imperfect at times, I loved it.

We should probably either start a new one or have a mod add (SPOILERS ALLOWED) to the title. I'll flag this post so a mod sees it, but OP may be the only one with the power to have the title edited.

Edit- Mods, OP started a new thread for spoiler talk, no need to edit this title now, thx.

A fun, but very flawed film. Mainly suffers from the change in storyteller, as he really dimished the threads JJ established.

Some really hokey, frustrating scenes but also some new iconic moments.

Looking forward to IX still, but Solo ... meh.
