Read that about the directors dad, who was an abusive alcoholic/addict type. And now after watching the trailer for Krisha, I see those themes as well. It comes at night was more about the unknown and a father's will to fight for his family, even if they are unsaveable.

Depends. There's at least a 50/50 shot you'll hate Mother! while IT is pretty universally liked. Fancy a gamble?

If you loved Stranger Things, odds are you are going to love 'IT'. Although 'IT' is a great and fun movie, it's exactly what you expect. If I hadn't seen either and had to choose one I'd gamble with mother! for sure.

Ideally, yes. With some planning I could possibly pull this off.

I dig weird movies, so I'm liking those odds. :D

Thanks peeps, gamble it is. Gonna go with Mother! I'm also guessing it won't be showing at my local as long as It will be, so I should get to it while I can. Will keep It for Tuesday perhaps since there are a ton of screens showing it. :pint:

Stoked on a double I caught tonight...
Lady Macbeth - "Hell hath no fury like a woman bored" (not my quote but so appropriate). 8/10.
Frantz - Such a shame this has flown under the radar. 10/10

My mum told me she (not surprisingly) hated Mother! I'm really hoping to catch it this week.

I didn't enjoy 'Mother!' at all TBH.

I'm a fan of Aronofsky, I've liked everything I've see by him (haven't see the Noah one). I'm good with weirdness, even if it doesn't make total sense, it's normally at least interesting.

But I just didn't enjoy it, at all. To each their own, but I was disappointed.

Mother! is incredible. New #1 favourite of the year. That said, I'd certainly not recommend it to everyone.

Just saw Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri at the Toronto Intl Film Fest. FAN-TAS-TIC. The acting and character development is on point, and the dialogue is so sharp. Should win the Oscar for best screenplay, and McDormand will probably get nominated for Best Actress and Rockwell will probably get a nom for supporting actor.
