Agreed, but would love to see intertwined story lines. Perhaps in Stephen King fashion, brief mention of a character or incident, Modine is always somehow the bad guy, etc.

Agreed

For sure, wish this was the structure of the show going forward.

Buddy in the camera/equipment biz told me he heard that it may switch to this anthology type approach but the Duffer Bros have tons more written about these characters that is just as good if not better than S1. We will see.

Finally got to this show and enjoyed it quite a bit...

A few big things that keep it off any of my GOAT lists:
- Winona Ryder was terrible
- Glaring plot deficiencies surrounding Barb
- Mike was a bit too annoying... Like, I get things are intense for him but why is he seemingly always yelling?! Or screeching, whatever you wanna call it.

A couple things I really, really enjoyed:
- This was small but always cracked me up - How Eleven picked up the phrase and whenever she used the insult "mouthbreather"
- Nostalgia feels were strong. Especially for me it drew upon Stand By Me, one of my all-time favorite flicks.
- Soundtrack/score. Totally on point.

That about sums it up: "acting and plot were spotty, but we like other movies... and music."

Never in serious doubt that they will renew, but always good for official confirmation. Can't wait.

I thoroughly enjoyed S1. Has anyone seen anything else from the Duffer Brothers that they'd recommend?
It looks like they don't have a very deep resume - one film and a few eps from another show.

Hidden is a good slow burn horror movie with a nice twist.
