Amen to this.

Finally watched Moonlight this past weekend. Best all around film of 2016 for me. Mahershala Ali, André Holland and all 3 actors who played Chiron were fantastic

I, Daniel Blake
Recommended. Of the seven or so Ken Loach films I've seen, I'd put this at the top.

I finally saw Split yesterday, really enjoyed it. Looks like M. Night is officially out of movie jail.

The Accountant was good for about 4/5 of the film and then kinda fell apart the last 25 mins or so..saw the final reveal coming a mile away

I really enjoyed Hunt for the Wilderpeople. The soundtrack was pretty great as well.

Finally got around to watching Arrival and I thought it was outstanding. One of the best sci-fi movies i've ever seen.

Patriots Day was well done...the bomb scene was obviously intense

Watched Moana in 3D...had no desire to see it at all, but the fiancee wanted to watch it. Thought it was absolutely fantastic!

Watched Hail, Caesar last night. Essentially a light, plotless satire surrounding a guy trying to figure how he feels about his job, but I enjoyed the hell out of it. Some fab set pieces and a pile of super memorable mini-performances/exchanges (Clooney/McDormand, hilarious - Fiennes, dude is just the best of his time - Tatum and Co in a goof-off song/dance number, making me rethink LALALAND* a bit). Bottom line: wish I'd seen it onna big screen.

*tended to forgive LALAND's so-so songs + singing/dancing b/c to me it emphasizes the people as semi-regular folk and because they seemed to be deconstructing the genre a bit. That might be a bit generous...
