Show gets pretty dark by 5/6 ep, at least by its own standards out the gate.

I've only watched a few episodes and have a question. Does the entire series stick to the one story line per episode format? Reminded me of the 80's detective shows where you could watch one episode and have a conclusion.

At this point (8 eps in) they are all self-contained shows in terms of the mystery/case but theres several story lines that go across the entire series.

Just got through S3 last night. Quick update:

S1- good
S2- very good
S3- great

Show delivers on multiple levels. You can see the writers finding their characters better with each episode. S3 was the last on A&E and then Netflix picked it up for 4/5 and the upcoming final 6th season. Hope the change was at the very least the same quality as 3 if not better. Its a fantastic show.
