NYC is waay too spendy for AMC. After about 10 mins of exposition they'd all end up on the Staten Island ferry heading up the Hudson or to Maine.

By "the beginning" do you mean the first season? If so, this season makes last season looking like Breaking Bad quality television. They really drymounted up this show by making it only about this small group and their isolated journey. Fans of TWD would have loved a broader story about the outbreak and spread of the disease and different global reactions to it. What we got was 7(?) people on a drymounting boat. Once they mentioned that no US West Coast ports are open. But that's it. At least the first season showed us the early stages and the quarantines and whatnot.

I think I said in this thread somewhere, World War Z was not as a whole a great movie, but it did a really good job of showing the spread of zombie-ism. Give us something like that. In FTWD we're already too far down the timeline for anything like that to happen. fudge, Rick's probably already woken up at this point.

Nope I watched S1 but I meant the beginning of S2 because I only watched however many episodes up until Thrones started. S1 was average but I thought it was because low budget, didn't know the characters well enough, yada yada. I think the acting stinks and I thought the show was going to be about how the outbreak started but in less than 10 episodes into the show its already just a really bad knockoff of the same stuff that WD gives us. Just don't see what they had in mind for this.

Canceled the series on the DVR.

They had a perfect opportunity to show more of the start of the outbreak, the struggle of leaving a city, etc. But instead they put them in a boat and a girl plays facebook on the radio.

Haven't watched tonight's yet, but every time this show goes away for a while then comes back, I struggle to remember what the hell happened before it went on break.

Flipping through I got nervous when I notice the Talking Dead was on.

Then realized it was for Fear The Walking Dead

Well, apparently I forgot to remove it from the schedule and it recorded last nights mid-season opener. I got 30 minutes in and fixed that issue... I have a high tolerance for stupidity (as evidenced by 4700 posts here) but that was a waste of electrons.

The season premier got fugged up on the DVR for about 10 minutes and just had color bars before it recovered. It appears I missed absolutely nothing.

Yep. The bars, static, stick in the eye, etc would be much more interesting than the show.

Couldn't sleep so I watched. Should have just layed there eyes closed instead.

Did AMC have a post show knob slob for that like they do for almost everything else? That might be worth watching just to see people have to pretend it was good/they liked it.
