The Official Horror Movie Thread

Film flames, episode episodes. Post lifetime is 1 year.

28 movies down... need to squeeze in a couple of movies I haven't seen yet. Most of the list is made of movies I've rewatched (sometimes after many years) with my son.

I gave the uncut Evil Dead remake a spin last night. I saw it in theaters, didn't like it. Thought maybe watching it at home, alone, in the dark... might add something. It didn't. Movie has a ton of style but not much else. I found it just as boring the second time around as I did the first. There are a couple of cringe-worthy scenes but...beyond that...zzzzzz.

^ Still have to check out The Wailing. It's been brutal for me so far watching some of these free movies.

Following up on our convo at the gallery... I enjoyed Stitches a lot more than a 1/5 rating the more I think about it, ha.

Lights Out was decent with a good ending.
The Darkness was woefully disappointing. It's not often there's a flick about Native American spirits and we were looking forward to it. Utterly forgettable.
Rewatched Under the Skin and it grew on me.
Rewatched Pet Sematary and it holds up surprisingly well. I hadn't watched it since I was a kid. Ironic that the scariest part back then (the Pascow ghost) is actually just trying to help.

"Under the Skin" has one of the only scenes in a film that truly disturbs me. One of the best SciFi Horror films in recent memory IMO, the score is fantastic as well.

Think the Book and the film (To somewhat of a lesser degree) pushes a lot about loss and the desperation that comes with it.

Sometimes Dead is Better. Definitely shows more in as I've gotten older.

Being the Christmas season, we watched All Through The House last week. Not terrible, but nothing really original. It reminded me a lot of SNDN. But, it's Christmas horror so I'm always entertained.
