I was going to wait until the B&N sale next month to pick up some titles from the last couple months, but then realized Criterion doesn't charge sales tax. Hells yeah. Picked up Barry Lyndon, Fire Walk With Me, The Lure, David Lynch: Art of Life and Sid & Nancy.

Just saw this now. Thanks for the update.

Looks like B&N has stopped accepting member coupons with their 50% off Criterion sales. Boo.

Thanks goodness. I got a B&N gift card for my bday, and without the sale their Criterion prices are laughable.

That Silence of the Lambs is cool.

I recently picked up the Lone Wolf and Cub set, Ikiru, and Dazed and Confused.

If you have the LONE WOLF AND CUB set and you don't have it already, I would highly recommend LADY SNOWBLOOD as well. The first movie is a classic, the sequel I'm not such a fan of.

I was lucky to catch both Lady Snowbloods on the big screen at the Alamo a year or so ago. Picked up the Criterion right after. Still haven't watched it again (or the special features) yet.

I actually haven't seen the Lone Wolf and Cub movies or Shogun Assassin, but being a longtime Wu/GZA fan (and a fan of those kinds of movies) I'm looking forward to it.

Enjoy them, they're beautiful! I got turned on to both due to KILL BILL (probably my favorite movie of all time) so anything that influenced QT I've tried to watch over the years. Glad you were able to see LADY SNOWBLOOD and grabbed the Bluray as well! Hopefully Criterion will continue to release more samurai movies as I hear they're amongst their best sellers.

Another good series, although not Criterion, is the FEMALE PRISONER SCORPION series (I'm starting to become a big Meiko Kaji fan!)

Exactly. There are so many cheap public domain versions out there that I've never actually owned this movie. Leave it to these guys to finally give me a definitive choice :pint:
