Got Filmstruck + criterion for a year for Xmas! Stoked. Where do I start? Should I make a Filmstruck thread?

Nice! You'll have to let us know how it is. I want to check it out eventually if/when I can stream it through my Wii-U. Probably should get it's own thread.

I wonder how much of the collection is on there. I have a goal to watch through most of Tarkovsky's films in 2017 and can't buy them all.

Was not aware of this platform at all. Pretty sure I'm going to subscribe tonight. Sounds amazing.

I've been using a free trial for a few months from being a beta user, really digging it and very polished for a newer service.

Great amount of films too!

I would recommend Watching the restored Blood Simple first.

Good move on Criterion's part, doing separate from the boxset releases of Umbrellas of Cherbourg and Young Girls of Rochefort, given their admitted inspiration on La La Land... though I wish I'd known before I bought the whole set. Aw well. I'm sure it's worth it in the long run.

Got a CC gift card but can't decide what to order. Any recommendations or some favorite releases?

Thanks guys, picked up the few of those I didn't have.
Ran is way out of print now though, was an early criterion DVD release. I have the Blu from Studio Canal which doesn't quite cut it for that film.

Janus/Criterion had put out the 4K restoration of Ran last year, saw it during its theater run and it was gorgeous.

Assuming Criterion will bee releasing that this year at some point. For some reason I already thought it was out.

Criterion lost the license to Studio Canal. I'd love to see that restoration on Blu but I don't think we'll be seeing it from CC anytime soon. Shame too, the Ran CC dvd looks much better than the SC Blu. I may be totally wrong though (hopefully). Really not sure.

My favorite Criterion is Brazil. I watch it the most by far. Next would be Ran.

Other out-of-print ones I like are Le Cercle Rouge and The Third Man.

Jelly? I do wish I had gotten the Third Man blu before it went out of print. Still have the DVD.
