Gallery upped the refund to 35...does that even cover shipping?

if you ship it back to them they will refund you the full price and cover shipping and I don't understand why they wouldn't just send more money in the first place. with the amount of damage that was going on they should refund 40 percent call of the day

Shipping was $48, incl insurance for me. Was that £35 or $35 in refund?

To Woody's point. The artists should consider sending some of their posters flat to the galleries for sale on site at the opening or for in-person visitors and logical geographic online purchases. Then have the rest either handled/packed by their folks or a bonded third party, who ships from within the CONUS. This would be especially useful/efficient/helpful for US-based collectors acquiring US artists' pieces from overseas galleries. There's no perfect answer but this would keep the artist more in control, possibly eliminate another distraction and eliminate our collective gnashing of teeth. My $0.02.

Thats rediculous. Shipping the print BACK to them is about $25 and they said if they do that they would issue full refund +shipping. Why not just do 50% and cut their losses? Wasn't this print almost $180 after shipping?

I agree it is an extreme hassle and waste of money to mail it back then have them fully refund (I'm assuming that includes your cost to mail back to them). Also $25 to London is the cheapest which is first class registered. It will take 3 weeks at least to arrive. Priority maybe 10 days for around 40 bucks. So then you are out a print you really wanted, have about 200-220 tied up in it until they receive, and run the risk of it getting lost en route back to them. If anything returns should be sent to Firehouse, and once he confirms receipt the refund issued from Flood. Then flood can pay for all of them to be mailed at once eliminating even more money lost on their end

To clarify I researched shipping back via USPS, FedEx, etc. Priority/insured (6-10 days) was $44 (even at the PO); Express (1-3 days) was $48; parcel/uninsured was $30. I took the middle option which they seemed cool with.
