IMO, this set has more appeal to art collectors than to regular Beatles fans. I am both a collector and a huge Beatles fan and was extremely happy to snag a set directly from DHM. It will be very interesting indeed to see how many they sell on the first day it hits the Beatles website.

Nothing sold since Friday from DHM but a flipper sold an Elite for 720 usd on the bay. :hanging:

Yeah , me too , im a print collector second and a Beatles collector first ...i mainly collect genuine 60s memoribilia , ephemera etc etc.

And I would tend to agree with you that these are more desirable to art collectors than Beatles collectors.....quite honestly its a saturated market out there for Apple endorsed Beatles products.....and these are not a cheap and cheerful addition to any Beatles collection

I made a concious effort about 15 years ago to ignore "new" Beatles products ...its never ending , and concentrate on the "genuine" 60's tat that was marketed for the masses back then.

Were it not for the fact that Im a Beatles collector that happens to like collecting prints too i would have ignored this kind of product at these kind of prices ....this seems a little hypocritical , but it makes sense to me.

I hope im wrong and that they do sell out immediatly for DHM when they are released to the Beatles collecting world , but i doubt it.......as already mentioned previously licensing anything from Apple is going to cost heavily and its a tight balancing act to make enough product to cover costs and turn a profit for your efforts and having to make so many that it saturates the market and devalues the investment element that we all make in buying these high priced goods.

Given the large amount of posters & prints over on the Beatles.com site, I would be surprised if more than 50 sets sell there this year.

These have already pulled in $136,000 in the first week, though. Hopefully licensing costs weren't too sky high and DHM can print these without going broke. I don't know how quickly people expected these to sell out, but 1000 copies of any release without the words "Tyler" and "Stout" attached are bound to hang around for a bit. Especially for a set that starts at $300.

Looks like they pulled some variants as well. Roughly 450 regs and 50 variants.

Where did the rest of the inventory go? I don't see it being sold at the Beatles website. ... and only 9 currently being listed on the bay.
