Josh is a fool for using a gallery to release prints. :D

He is doing what all fine art artist do

In the fine art world art is either sold through galleries (as a rep) or a dedicated art rep not associated with a gallery... either way there is a middle man between artist and collector

It would be like saying why don't athletes negotiate their own contracts, there is a system of representation

Maybe if you had been on the ball sooner you could have had him just sell through your ebay store

This is so gonna crash the site. I got shut out on Last Kiss (initially) and I anticipate that I'll get shut out on this too. That's the only thing about DBS that bothers me. DBS knows this is gonna crash their site, based, if nothing else, on what happened with Last Kiss. Yet, despite the fact that they're gonna make a crapload of $ turning this print around, I will be shocked if they do anything to update the site to keep a crash from happening this time.

I am just going to take a guess and say it will be $250-300, considering Last Kiss was the closest edition size of 250 at $200, but Sowers is significantly bigger.

Last Kiss is actually larger than Sowers (per square inch). About 1.5x larger than Sowers in dimensions (1200 vs 768). And it will be easier to ship being 1/2 less as wide as Last Kiss. I'm thinking it should be the same price as Last Kiss. We'll see soon enough.

Sowers 1st = 16x48 = 768 sq. in

Last Kiss 1st = 18x24 = 432 sq in

Last Kiss OG = 30x40 = 1200 sq in.

Edit: Dimensions per database

Sowers is approximately 1.78x larger than Last Kiss. This doesn't necessarily translate into cost square inch by square inch though. There is the initial cost of having a print regardless any size. Then take into account the size of the edition.

Whatever. It looks like a good one to me.

Sowers OG = 40 x 120 = 4800 sq in

Again, how is the Last Kiss bigger than Sowers?

fluffhead just got the dimensions confused (OG vs. print) I'm sure.

Framing will be a bitch on this one, isn't 48" considered oversized?

That painting is so huge i can't imagine it would be easy to find a place to hang, even in a monster house.

Just finding a place to flatten the print will be fun. :D

Something tells me that if you've got enough disposable income to buy the painting, you've got plenty of amazing wall space to hang it.

I suppose it is hard for some to admit when they are wrong.

That's why this bad boy will go straight to the framer, once I've got it in my hands.
