THE VACVVM presents "V1" Group Show 09/30

Discussion of gallery shows and art exhibitions.

The show was very cool! Pretty sweet considering I could drive 30 minutes from my house and see some very good work up close. Foley's prints were my favorite, so that's what I bought. The peacock screenprint that Ben created is pretty amazing.

Nice job Mitch & the Vacvvm artists.

Plus I got to have a beer with Kramerica, which was a treat! Cool bloke.

Awesome show as always. No random number shenanigans and there were 29 people there when Mitch handed out numbers at 12:30. Line is always a great experience, it runs smooth and people are respectful of the neighbors/building. I think it falls into the category of don't fix it if it ain't broken.

Off the top of my head here are the first OG sales(1 per til the line cycled through):
1-Horkey- Ikebana I
2-Foley- December
3-Holt- Tree at Pike Island
4-Foley- Echo
5-Taylor- Zugaikotsu
6-Foley- Nocturne
7-Taylor-Aka
8-Horkey-Venin or Ikebana II
9- ?
10- Seamans- Laura

Huge thanks to Mitch and everyone involved for such a great time and last but not least it was awesome to see HKC out at a show :notworthy:

Was happy to see some familiar faces (hey Mike, hey Matt, hey Steve, hey Tim, hey Michael) and to aaaaalmost feel like I've been there watching those many great pieces up close! Aaron is really killing it. Awesome painting, hell of a print, and those two Ikebanas.... gawd damn.... they just shot right into my TOP10 list (not decided which of the two I like better... leaning towards II). And as always - those frames!

Great show all around! Major Kudos to Mitch and the VACVVM!

Ikebana II is my favorite hands down.

That was the one that took the longest to sell of the 3 Horkeys. It sold to the 17th person I believe.

That doesn't surprise me I guess. Everyone seems to love the owls a little more than other birds.

I would have taken heat from the wife but I wouldn't have been able to pass it up if I had the opportunity.

Thanks for sharing the pics

Thanks for posting the pics Bluecow, lots of beautiful work.

Delort's Seasons print might be my favorite of the bunch. Or Ikibana II. Or the Ortiz piece with the dogs ("Personal Problem"?).

I couldn't believe how small Venin was. It was seriously only about 6 inches tall. From all the in progress videos I thought it was going to be a much larger piece.

I thought there would be an entire bird. Non the less that piece had so much detail packed into it. All the tiny little brush strokes servered their purpose flawlessly

Mentioned this on Twitter, but if you'd like a shot at any of the remaining OGs before they go public, please email now.
I've got one each by Teagan, Jes, Nico, Joao, Brandon, and Randy.
Cheers

Hello friends - I've come to the boards, as promised!

For those who came, omg, it was so fun to meet you in person. And what a show! Not a single mediocre piece in the bunch. Not that I expected any. Did not disappoint. A++ will go again.
