Had a blast at the Never Grow Up show. Still can't believe there's a Rich Kelly Robin Hood and it surpassed all expectations. Just look at these babies!

Great show! Lots of words and pics in my recap: http://www.nerdlocker.com/nerd-art/neve ... ters-recap

It has some similarities to Doyle's The Sea Also Rises print, but in person the execution doesn't look like Doyle. The Ansin is gorgeous in person.

God I love Ansin's linework. Nothing against 20k Leagues Under The Sea, just wouldn't get play in my home, but damn.

I'm not crazy, I realize Ansin has much more illustrative talent than Doyle, but that's the first thing 20k made me think of, Doyle. For that reason, I couldn't ever own it. I am sure it's a fine print.

Also, the Taylor blows it out of the water.

I agree with that. It's framed above my flat file and I find myself admiring it often :pint:

I'm a sucker for 20K Leagues though and couldn't pass up the Ansin.

Cloonan's Fantasia pairs well with them too.

For those who saw the Cloonan Fantasia at the show, reg or variant?

For me, the variant is the definite winner. I think the more muted blues worked a lot better for me. Both are solid, but Variant had my favor.

From my writeup: "I opted for the darker colored variant over the bright blue regular edition because it looks a touch classier and a lot more evil (which in this case is fitting)."

I found the blue to be a bit garish. I actually had decided to pass on the reg, but when I saw the variant, I scooped it up.

I asked a few other folks at the gallery and they seemed to dig the reg more because of the brighter blue.
