NYCC 2017

Discussion of gallery shows and art exhibitions.

Looks like the first update went out.

This is a bit of a change

Third: We're going to be real with you, this is a very bittersweet announcement - we are eliminating 3-Day and 4-Day tickets. We will only be selling single day Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Sunday Kids tickets to NYCC 2017.

You may or may not know that the Javits Center is going to be under construction. This means we'll be working with some space limitations and we want to make sure as many people have the opportunity to buy a ticket and come to the show as possible. Selling only single day tickets will give more fans the chance to buy a ticket for at least a day to experience the fun of NYCC.

lol what a crock of fudge. no 3-day or 4-day passes, but single days will be available... for a higher price.

I've wanted to go to NYCC the last three years but always forgot to get tickets until it was too late. This year i'm not gonna forget lol. Since no multi-day passed i'm probably just going to try for a Saturday pass. Although i'm sure that's gonna be the most popular day.

i find the change a little distasteful for the long time attendees. perhaps we got stuck in our ways, but i had a visceral negative reaction and thought, maybe i should just grab drinks and dinners with folks who are in town for it instead of going.

As a long time attendee to the show I will say the prices for single days are the same as in previous years. As in if you did not luck out and had to buy single days over 3 or 4 days the price is the same but if you have had 3 or 4 days in the past it is a gutpunch and close to $80 more

its no different than SDCC charging $265 for 5 days (4D w/PN) but at the same time it does evoke a negative reaction from the majority of people I have spoken to

im kind of curious how the renovations effect it. Are they knocking out an area?

@acidburn - they got rid of Javits North for the construction, so basically for now just where artist alley was. they are going to put artist in Hall 1E this year, that was where the Empire Stage was and where the Amazon VR experience was last year. So Artist Alley is not going anywhere but there is less square footage on the floor

3 and 4 day passes are done for, unless the show just loses all popularity

FYI - Press and Pro opened today for those interested in applying

and they have evened farmed out panels to multiple sites not in the center itself. So I find the whole 'we want more people due to our limited space' a pretty specious claim.

Professionals can still get 4-day passes. Not that I'll use all 4 days but hey
