So the folks over on the Kingdom Of Nonsense thread think I should start a thread for my new label.....
So here goes I am launching a new vinyl only soundtrack label called Death Waltz Records each release will have a ltd coloured vinyl version of 300 and will have exclusive and all new art by some of my favourite artists .... It's been 9 or 10 months in the making and we are now ready and able to annouce our release schedule.I have worked in the music industry for 25 years and am also a huge film & art fan , and basically I really wanted to release some records that I wanted in my collection! If you like you can follow us on twitter http://www.twitter.com/deathwaltzrecs and we'll keep you posted when the web site goes live for pre orders....here are our first two releases
DW001
Zombi 2 aka Zombie Flesh Eaters composed by Fabio Frizzi
First time this has ever been released on vinyl and we have brand new sleevenotes from composer Fabio Frizzi. This will be on white and red splattered 150gm vinyl with exclusive artwork from legendary UK poster artist Graham Humphreys. If you are not familiar with Grahams work I have included some pics here for you..
DW002
Escape From New York composed by John Carpenter
re-mastered and featuring two tracks that didn't make it into the movie. Sleevenotes by Alan Howarth. Artwork from Jay Shaw as you all know Mr Iron Jaiden. This will be on black and orange swirled vinyl to match the framework of NYC that appears on the computer screen at the beginning of the film.
Why I am starting this thread ? Well both artists have agreed to post progress pics as we go from concept to the finished product...
Oh yes we will be selling VERY ltd screenprints of the cover art too. Ltd to 50 wth 10 AP's . It might take a week or so for me to get some pics up for you guys but it will happen..
Hopepeople are as into this as I am

we are aiming for late May. I had a really great email exchange with Jay about the artwork and we are riht on the same page. He is sketching things up now I think. Really excited about this as I know he loves Carpenter as much as I do so looking forward to seeing his vision...tehhippy wrote:What's the release date for the Escape vinyl and print?

Wow this is awesome! Also if you have any plans on releasing anything by Daktari Lorenz from Nekromantik or Der Todesking I will fill my pants with poop, in a good way.
