Guess what the first image you get is when you google Han Solo...

And here's a familiar pic of Leia...
Leia ROTJ.jpg
with a little rotation to make it look like she's standing like she is in Gabz's print (which contorts her hip to look unnatural, but still exists in the print).

Its not being billed or sold as a 'tribute'. Its 'licensed' theft, and poorly done.

Honestly, I love Gabz's work. I think he's very talented. I own many of his pieces. I'm just pointing out a few "similarities" that are a bit striking to me here.

Also...nobody outside of this tiny ass circle is even going to give a drymount. They want the pictures they know. They'd actually prefer the stuff to be re-purposed from their nostalgia references I'd wager.

Valid point, comfort in brand recognition.

Ask the original artists how they feel, or how much Gabzzz is spotting them...

Bullshit. Nobody wants that, nor would they ever, EVER make private unlicensed commissions that would do the same.

EVER.

Studio fees should be trickling back if their accountants are any good...

Hmmm, who gets paid for this one?
Landspeeder.jpg
It didn't come from the movie. Not sure where it's from. Maybe some video game. (But it does come up as the second image on Google for "landspeeder.") The prominent grey area on the step next to the seats in this picture doesn't exist in the movie (as far as I can tell), but it's very obvious in this picture as well as in Gabz's print.

Sure fits nicely too:

Oh yeah, and here's the speeder from Endor.

If it's officially licensed by LFL, they obviously aren't bothered by it, so why should anyone else? Just move along...

I frankly couldn't care less about whether it's licensed or not. And, like I said earlier, I like Gabz. I'm just pointing out what appear to be some of Gabz's source materials and discussing his use of them. You know, I'm just discussing Gabz's art in an art discussion section of the forum on a discussion board about Gabz's art. If you don't like that, feel free to move along as well.
