Hi Everyone!
With so many things happening here at Spoke, I figured it may be a good idea to consolidate all gallery related info into one post. Between the gallery shows, print releases, special events etc. etc. it just seemed to make sense for as it's much easier than to switch between multiple categories and threads. Mods, if this isn't okay just let me know!

First off, if you haven't heard, Spoke has opened a permanent gallery space here in San Francisco. The gallery is located at 816 Sutter street at Jones (former location of the HUF shop.) We're open Tuesdays through Saturdays, from noon to 6pm. If you're in the Bay Area, please come by and introduce yourself!

If you can't find us in person, please visit our new website - http://www.spoke-art.com

Our inaugural show earlier this month was Rod Luff's "Moleskine Project", the second leg of his debut US tour following his amazing solo show down at Phone Booth Gallery in Long Beach. The show consists of 19 framed sketchbook pages from the artist, and I'm very proud to say that as of this weekend, the show is now officially sold out. We may have some loose unframed pages from Rod available in a week or so, but in the meantime, check out some pics from the opening night below. All photos courtesy of Shaun Roberts.

With Quentin vs. Coen Round Two opening in exactly one week, and the standard mayhem and madness that's bound to ensue, it's time to play some catch up before the shite hits the fan next Thursday.... Last weekend, Spoke participated in our very first fine art fair. For those of you who haven't had the opportunity to attend one before, every major city typically hosts at least one fine art fair a year. The big one is in December in Miami (Art Basel: Miami), a couple years back I saw a nine hundred thousand dollar Mark Ryden painting sell on opening night there, so needless to say it's a pretty crazy experience/weekend. Anyhow, the SF Fine Art Fair is getting better with each passing year, and this year a new satellite fair, ArtPadSF opened up.

ArtPad took place at the Phoenix hotel in SF, a trendy boutique hotel with uber hip bar, restaurant and poolside (sorta like the Roosevelt in LA). For the fair, each gallery rented out a room in the hotel, all the furniture was cleared out and we set up shop for the weekend. Even though the gallery has only been open for a couple weeks, the organizers of the fair were familiar with us and invited us to participate. Sales were great, we sold out the remaining Rod Luff works and also moved paintings by Serge Gay Jr., Audrey Pongracz, Sandi Calistro, Brian M. Viveros and Scott Scheidly.

I haven't sent this to any sites or posted this anywhere else yet, consider this an advance head's up for EBeaners!

Today, before 5pm PST.

We'll sell most of the run online, but will definitely be saving a fair share for attendees of next week's Quentin vs. Coen Round Two opening.

Good luck everyone!
