The fact that PJ20 hasn't been released on audio is a joke. Actually, the fact that not all of their shows after the mid-00's is a joke. No excuse for shows like MIA, PJ20, Wrigley '13, etc. not to be released.
Phish has SBD quality downloads available hours after each show... no reason PJ can't do that as well.

They used to. Think it stopped after 2006 tour.63schoeffling wrote:Phish has SBD quality downloads available hours after each show... no reason PJ can't do that as well.
Oh, and only 10 studio albums plus lost dogs in 26 years? Weak

Hmmm, that would have been before I started following them from a live show standpoint. Idk why they feel the need to turn bootleg releases into such a thing.jamel-d wrote:They used to. And I'm completely fine with the lack of material.... just keep switching the setlists and it's all good.

In 2003, you would come out to your car and there would be a flyer on the windshield letting you know that within a few hours, a medium quality version of the show would be available for download and within a few days, they full show. I believe they were available relatively quickly until 2008.jamel-d wrote:They used to. Those downloads were the best. I really miss that. And you can count me as one of the people who don't notice a giant difference on quality between the next-day downloads and these new "wait a few months while we master it professionally" ones.

I agree, I really appreciated them although these days, you can find full HD video on YouTube within hours of shows ending. Audio quality isn't always perfect but we certainly didn't have that luxury 10-15 years ago.DickButt wrote:Those downloads were the best. I really miss that. I mean, I love the vault vinyl releases, but I don't need the cds of every show in perfect mastered sound - those old immediate downloads were great.

Also I swear those older downloads were a better representation of the crowds and noise, too. These new perfectly mastered ones concentrate more on the actual soundboard and I always find myself listening to a show I was at and thinking "aw man, the crowd was way louder during this song than it's represented here".
i only listen to boots on maxell
