i have several things framed with standard frames from hobby lobby with uv/museum glass. i get it i promise. i simply had 2 points...nothing to do with people like emek selling $20 prints. i do have a $20 print by dan mccarthy in a standard 18x24 frame with the cheap plexi that came with it.
my points were $115 is over my threshold for what needs uv glass and spacers/matting and if i bought that dead dictionary print thinking it was a screen print and it was a giclee glued to the mat that may or may not be archival i'd be disappointed.

Oh, gotcha
There is also another hand in the 2nd edition that needs to be paid as well so taken altogether the price jump is pretty much within reason.Given the 1st edition was selling ~$500 after TRPS, this is clearly a cash grab, so I dont see how anyone could expect EMEK to price this any lower than $100 + Shipping (which is essentially what this cost since shipping was free)
Emek also had the first edition listed as a screen print on his site so I don't think it was an intentional misrepresentation by the gallery

I wouldn’t waste anymore time explain yourself to space antelope. He clearly doesn’t get it. I mean, who doesn’t like a “free” mat around glued dictionary paper with an inkjet printed image? Luls.

I mean, I have the print, on my wall, in a frame I did not have to pay more for than the art itself, and I enjoy looking at it, which is the point of art, soooo yeah, I get itbryndavies wrote:lightyears2010 wrote:i have several things framed with standard frames from hobby lobby with uv/museum glass. i get it i promise. i simply had 2 points...nothing to do with people like emek selling $20 prints. i do have a $20 print by dan mccarthy in a standard 18x24 frame with the cheap okexi that came with it.

It's on the drymounting back of the latest GD print, and last one, and the typewriter one.watersbrad wrote:I don't think anyone is debating that this service exists. But how do you know this is what Emek is using to print these?maddog76 wrote:

Has anyone received their 2nd edition dictionary print from Haight St yet?. Got shipping notification on March 1 but nothing else since then and still no tracking #.

I received mine last week, but had to email them for tracking #, and then they shipped print.GoBluePanic wrote:Has anyone received their 2nd edition dictionary print from Haight St yet?. Got shipping notification on March 1 but nothing else since then and still no tracking #.

Haight is VERY lack luster... I emailed about my dictionary
"they couldn't find a tracking number" - so now, "I have to wait until they receive more from EMEK"
About to cancel my order- these folks are proving to be trouble
