you guys see this yet?
Star Wars: Frames
If you're a true Star Wars fan, you can probably close your eyes and picture some of the series' most iconic moments: Han Solo as he's lowered into the carbon freezing chamber, or the bittersweet look of redemption on the face of Anakin Skywalker as Luke removes his mask. Star Wars: Frames ($3,000) is a high-end celebration of 1,416 moments like these, hand-picked by George Lucas from over one million frames of film, and reproduced across six hardcover, leather-bound volumes — one for each film — measuring 11" x 22" each. Limited to just 1,138 copies, each set arrives in a handsome wood-inlaid box, with embossed medallions of Yoda and Vader on either side, and comes with a portfolio case with a bookplate signed by George Lucas himself.

My Mom bought this for my birthday back in 1995.
The one I have is numbered 6/500 (LOW NUMBER!!!)
signed and framed lithograph reproduction from the Star Wars comic created by Al Williamson. It is a 24"x24" Limited Edition solid plate lithograph distributed by Zanart Entertainment Inc. as authorized by Lucasfilm Ltd. The frame measures 29 1/2" x 29 1/2." The certificate of authenticity is in a plastic sheet attached to the back.

Good call. I'm sure I would have headed that way anyway.noeldaddy wrote:gorgeous. and not that i'm staring at her crotch, but it looks like there's a play button there
On another note, can we stop with the "AT-AT's as dogs" theme? This is a nice piece, but this has been going on for years now.
There is very little SW art in the database, I added a few, is it kosher to add prints from celebration and Acme or is there some rule about what types of art are acceptable to add. I don't want to clog the works with unwanted art. But stuff from McHaley and others deserves to be recognized.

I noticed the same thing and asked the mods/admins. They said there's no restriction and welcome the additions. Yamar told me that it may take a bit of time for the pieces to get approved/added... just due to the amoutn of submissions they get etc.snowrs wrote:There is very little SW art in the database, I added a few, is it kosher to add prints from celebration and Acme or is there some rule about what types of art are acceptable to add. I think artists will be putting out Star Wars related art for years to come. My son is obsessed with the new Clone Wars animation which I must say it is amazing.
In it's own right it is deeper, darker and better written that any of the prequels.
I just stumbled upon this cubist take on Darth Vader...

I saw it on Arrested Motion I think or maybe High Fructose. I dont know the artist.
I dont think there is a more clever Star Wars print than this one by Bruce Horan...
That one made me smile.

I have three of them on three kinds of paper because I am AWESOME.ayejay wrote:I think my Che-bacca print for Brlsq a few years back was more clever, but I'm biased. It was either before the Che trooper by urban medium or I was not aware of it at the time, can't remember which.
Yeah, your print was before the Che scultpure/toy stuff, before the Che-Trooper thing, and before this general "let's slap movie fudge into every medium we can" fad.
Take this man at his word:electrachrome, mostly kidding wrote:mr smith, EB's poet laureate.
