If you have a Moviestop near you, ask them to check the warehouse inventory. It's OOP, but their warehouse has tons of crap still there. They can order it to the store. That's how I got mine a few months ago for about $35 IIRC.finalfilppula wrote:It's the same reason why I held off on that Blade Runner print posted a while backzombiedictator wrote:I bought a copy for my friend Joe that runs the Art of Akira exhibit. This thing is ridiculous. Debating if I get a copy for myself, but that paper....
Was there any reason for this? I wouldn't mind owning an Akira BD.zombiedictator wrote:It's out of print now. It has one of the highest bit-rates of any Blu-Ray ever, so audio is NUTS. No extras, which sucks. I was hoping they'd "fix" that with the anniversary edition that Japan did, but they didn't.

Perhaps this will suit the needs of the seekers?
When stressed about getting a drop, just remember: it will decay into the same organic matter as inevitably as your rotting corpse no matter how much museum glass you put in front of it.

Fan art. I'm not even sure if Mondo's is officially licensed, to be honest.RyanMarvin wrote:Is that Akira poster officially licensed or fan art?

I always thought that was the reason it was never "sold" anywhere, and that it does not show up in the Mondo Online ArchiveCelsius wrote:

Blu-Ray is the Pioneer dub. Only way to get the Streamline is OOP DVDs or the Madmen Blu-Ray in Australia.slowt wrote:Anyone know if these are Streamline / Pioneer dub?

You can still get the awesome steelbook edition of the Akira Blu ray in the UK for £12. Guess it's European region locked though
I've got a few out of print DVDs but not blu-rays. I have the Jarhead still sealed that went out of print on it's release day. It'd be nice to find the Akira for under $80.00.zombiedictator wrote:Blu-Ray is the Pioneer dub. I have five different copies of Akira and am tempted to pickup another blu-ray
Regular VHS, SE VHS, Official VCD, DVD, Blu-Ray
So if anyon'e looking to sell their Stout to a fan at a reasonable price, hit me up
