this thread is ruling! Aaron is totally in a league of his own. post more pics, folks.

i love this little guy but it's extra special to me cos it has mine, my wife's and my daughter's names on there. very fitting since the poster's image is focusing on a family.

black ink, white paint and grey pencil.

That one has always impressed me dean. It's so well placed and the ink work makes it look like it was supposed to be there. The drop shadows perfect too. One of my favorites for sure.

Ahh, thanks for that -- there's still some floating around -- a hot cross and a fantomas that i've gotta find. Plus, of course, the custom atlas that is no longer mine (damn you owning a house). That mint custom atlas, in my opinion, was hands down the best custom period. Like, the one Aaron did for Shingo (is that his name?) -- not as good. Anyway, the one above is an x-mas present I gave to my old landlord-turned-friend. Aaron was way stoked to do it for him b/c he's the co-founder of straight edge and was the drummer of Minor Threat. Plus he thinks Aaron is the best illustrator of the last century (his words, not mine).

you know, i still love mcnail's narwhal. The thing he DIDN'T tell you about his grails was that aaron actually went to his office and drew it in front of him -- which i'm totally jealous about. i'm sure mcnail wasn't hovering like a goon or anything, but still -- pretty sweet.

so anyway, here are the last pictures i took of my atlas. super nerdy, but i had to do it.

then i packed it up so well that not even ups could destroy it (without trying, at least).

Lightyears -- I've made an executive decision and have decided that I am going to post those nesting pics. I have cropped the large picture to preserve anonymity, b/c I appreciate the owners request of privacy. But seriously -- it's just not fair to horkey nerds to not see these -- that and it's not fair to Aaron himself. I mean, the purpose is to help Aaron succeed as an artist and by keeping work secret, that does him a disservice. So, if you're reading this "owner of nesting," I apologize but I think you see my point. Enjoy.

SIMPLY INCREDIBLE

thanks to all for posting your personal pics. I agree with TJ, sharing Aaron's skills can only help him.

the crazy thing is, even after some of these close up shots, it appears that you can STILL get closer into his drawings since there's so much attention to detail.

i'm floored (and jealous...so very, very jealous).

I am crying and clapping I am so jealous.

please post more.
