nice score Schwager!

I Picked these guys up about a year ago from an architectural firm way out in BFE. The fellow said he'd take $30 for each or all three for $80... I opted for all 3. The guy said they were WWII era architectural drafting flat files. They're big, and each drawer is about 30lbs... and there are 30 of them. Spent all day that hot summer day carrying one drawer at a time about 100yards to the ONLY DOOR the building had.

I'm picking this up on Saturday. Talked the guy down to $75. Needless to say, I'm pretty excited.

About 10 years ago, I park my car and head to the elevator to go to my apartment. Stop dead in the lobby. WTF?, a matte black flat file is standing right there.
Greaseball guy walks out of the elevator (I'm guessing he was a printer for a newspaper) and we have this discussion:

Me: Dude, you moving?
Guy: Yeah. Why?
Me: I'll give you $100.00 for this.

He helps me slide it back into the elevator ... and that is how you buy a flat file.
Then about 3 years ago I sold it. I tell that story and the buyer and I have this discussion:

Him: How do you know it was actually his?
Me: Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ... (never thought of that.)

Agreed. It doesn't look to be in that bad of shape either. I was expecting to have to do a lot of clean up work on whatever I found on CL but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Shut yo mouth!
I love and treasure individuals as I meet them, I loathe and despise the groups they identify with and belong to.
