After some back and forth emails, USPS is back up as a shipping option, at least to Canada.

How much is FedEx charging you? To the boonies, they wanted $67 or $69 for actual shipping, I believe, before brokerage fees and whatnot (another $20 to $30?). USPS wants $30 some less for a shipment my way and no brokerage fees.

$24 FedEx and $39 USPS.

Does Fedex charge brokerage? I know that UPS is brutal for additional fees. USPS/Canada Post never charge extra so maybe the higher shipping costs still make it cheaper in the end?

They sure do. While UPS won't release the package to you until you pay the ridiculous fees, FedEX, like DHL, will dropp off the package and mail you the bill later. Their fees used to be about identical, but I have not bought anything shipped by FedEx for a while now, so I can't say for sure.
