The OFFICIAL KEVIN TONG ART THREAD
Hey, hey,
This is where I'll be posting the latest info on my stuff, including new items in the store, sneak peeks, and process shots.
Here is where you can post questions that I will see for sure, though PMing me works too (sharing is nice though).
In addition to adding lots of regular blog posts (http://tragicsunshine.com/newsletter/), I have added lots of new art to my site. In the online store the posters (http://tragicsunshine.com/store.htm) and prints (http://tragicsunshine.com/storevarious.htm) are shown with the information regarding them.
Please take some time to go to MY WEBSITE (http://www.tragicsunshine.com) and you can click the images to see them bigger. Also, there are some new ones that I have not mentioned in this post that rule too.
While I am away from September 4-15, I can accept orders online, but I cannot ship them until I return. When I do come back, that will be the first thing I will do, so rest assured, your package will arrive quickly and you’ll receive an email confirmation and tracking number.
I will also have all these prints at my booths in Seattle and Chicago, so if you are in the area, please swing by so that I can hand them to you in person.
Later.
Thanks!

For those that haven't seen them, Kevin's stuff pretty much kills in person. The Edward Scissorhands piece is a thing of glory that I am guessing will be promptly hung here as soon as the girls are old enough to watch and appreciate the film. I know that I've still gotta get up a listing here for the "I feel the same..." print set - can't express how glad I am that I picked that up in Chicago...
Hope you have a good Bumbershoot, Kevin!

I only have the Mogwai poster but it's one of my favourite prints this year.Yamar wrote:For those that haven't seen them, Kevin's stuff pretty much kills in person.
Kevin is also awesome to deal with, sorted out a problem I had within minutes of me emailing him!
this aggression will not stand, man.
Thanks so much for those nice nice words guys. I really appreciate that.
I got the Pinback poster walking out of the Fillmore early last year, I think when I added it to the database, it was the first poster on here by Kevin. Really like your work.
(edit - yeah, it was the first print - - - http://forum.expressobeans.com/viewtopi ... hilit=tong )
Oddly enough, I just got thorugh adding another one before seeing this thread ... Streets of Fire from the Alamo Drafthouse Series ... still for sale at mondo ...

Mitch was kind enough to post (http://www.omgposters.com) the latest art prints I have up for sale, as well as my collaboration with Tim Doyle.
my collab with Doyle.
my collab with Doyle.
In this most humble year of 2009, I am attending Flatstock 22 (http://www.myspace.com/flatstock) in Seattle and Renegade Craft Fair (http://www.renegadecraft.com/chicago) in Chicago to sell posters and promote my art.
Here's a few highlights of what's going on so far.
Everything I need for my booth fit nicely in this case. So perfect, like tetris or the line from that Postal Service song. This case weighed in at 95 lbs. Keep in mind that I am selling at two events, back to back.
I made some badges for my helpers/assistants. Since they are both male and female, I made the badges so that one side is boy themed and one side is girlie themed. I am not totally sure exactly why I gave my artist badge (right) both a girl side and a boy side.
After packing, I hopped on a plane from LAX to Portland and finally to SeaTAC. The flight to Seattle was a propeller plane, real cool.

Good to see you've remembered to pack your Superman cape, an essential item for any trip.

The Jimmy print is nice... but sorry - the art print version of it kills it in person. Picked that one up in Chicago with Edward and a few others. You did take the trophy Kevin - most prints I bought at one booth was yours this summer...

Thanks, I appreciate the support. I am in Chicago right now. I am doing Renegade Craft Fair. I just finished Flatstock in Seattle.
Hey guys, here is part two of my journal post about Flatstock 22 and Renegade Craft Fair. Thanks to mcnail for posting on omgposters.com too.

I saw Modest Mouse for the first time at Bumbershoot, they were so awesome. I was pretty close to the front of 25,000 people. Crazy.

While everyone was on the floor during Flatstock, I gave a test print of mine to Billy Perkins whose booth was first near the entrance. I told him to doodle on it and pass it left and tell that artist to do the same. It went through the entire floor, to all the booths, to all the artists. This is the front. Seriously, is this not a great pic of Jay?
Took some studio pics when I toured Delicious Design League in Chicago:
I like this pic of me and Chris from Silent Giants. I really got to talk to them a lot more. Great guys and excellent work.
I have some new work and posters dropping soon, so I will post again in a few days to let you all know. Thanks fellas!

Hey Everyone.
Some of you may remember the Packing and Shipping tutorial I had on my blog, the one with Ryan Milner.
http://tragicsunshine.com/newsletter/?p=329
I just posted Part Two in that series. If anyone has shipping questions, I hope this will help.
