Two things:
- The "Basics Matte Black" frames from AF are my favorite. And they're some of the cheapest.
- I should have known AyeJay was gonna drop in here and make us all sick.

Yup. It's the one my Millward OG ink was in, the over by my front door across from the bathroom. 8411, same frame. I love it. I love seeing everyone's work! I'm more of a scientific illustrator. I don't draw directly from photos; I usually do a lot of sketches from life and take color notes in the field, then I might use photos as reference material to proof anatomy and things like that. This African cichlid was done during a course at the Steinhart Aquarium in San Francisco quite a long time ago. We had the course at night when nobody else was there--the fishes were amazingly cooperative and calm. This is color pencil. No photos were used for this one.
A kingfisher from southern Africa done in the field (color pencil).
This is something a little more on my creative side. I did this after spending several months in SE Alaska doing wildlife surveys (watercolor). The color of this particular file is off.
