It´s titled Fall, can´t wait for it to land in Copenhagen.

An art collection is not made up random, individual pieces. All of the paintings, sketches, drawings and prints are part of a whole, and reflect the collector. At least good art collections do this. For me, a consistent theme is acquiring pieces where the artist reveals something about themselves through their work. I want to see, feel, and in a way, share what they are feeling and thinking, and the stronger the emotions that find their way onto a canvas the better. This has led me to Latvian artist Jana Brike. Some shallow critics have claimed that her work is little more than child pornography, but nothing could be further from the truth. Jana is sharing her childhood with us, and allowing us to see her innermost self. From an interview with Buzzfeed ...
At any rate, Copro Gallery offered a pre-holiday discount on a piece by Jana, and I simply couldn’t resist adding it to my collection. Titled Anatomy Lesson, it is a 16x20 oil on canvas.By most part I paint playful adolescence: their misadventures and emotional processes, growing pains and initiation into adulthood. I paint what I perceive as the feminine soul space, like a garden with both fresh blossoms and decay. I paint children. Sometimes I have thought I paint children because I cannot be a child myself. I was raised up in a very restricted environment. To feel guilty and ashamed for just about everything was considered normal. I kept my wildness and craving to live with openhearted immediacy well hidden. I am luring that carefree wild child out to live a full life through my art. I as a person am still in struggle of doing it in my life.
Thanks Treweman! I'm really happy with it and he's become a friend, so even bettertreweman wrote:And ochonueve, the Nate Ross is exceptional. I love the use of light and shadow. The wall in the lower left is remarkable, and combined with softer hills in the background, this is a wow. Kudos.
For your latest pickup, the artist is definitely expression repressed emotions or desires. The piece becomes a lot stronger and more meaningful with her story. Very cool!
