Hey guys....was just wondering if anybody here with experience shipping large scale items could help me out.

I'm working on making a purchase of an original piece and the seller and I are trying to find the best, most cost effective way of moving the piece my way. Anyways, the piece measures 54" by 28" inches and is done on an average size wood board/plank. I've never had to organize something like this so any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to anybody who lends a hand.

It needs to be professionally crated and insured.

Shouldn't this thread be under Art Care? I don't know why Art Care is not a sub-category under Art Discussion. It seems redundant to make it it's own category.

This is true, but I understand that they won't insure "collectibles/limited edition" pieces (this info came from a pack 'n ship type place). Check first in regards to insurance.

That is true. FedEx does not insure "art". They told me in person.
