totally agree. the last few paragraphs kind of taints the rest of the article.iano-beano wrote: ↑Thu Dec 08, 2022 6:09 pmNeat article, has a taste of puff-piece about it though, especially when you reach the end:papaver wrote: ↑Thu Dec 08, 2022 1:21 pmgood read about NFTs.

but that doesn't mean the article doesn't do a good job of actually explaining the point of NFTs or try at least. of everything i've read about NFT's this comes the closest to describing the concept.
and that hic site is just an interface into the blockchain. doesn't mean anything was lost because the site went down. i don't know enough about tezos to try to track it down on the chain.
think this is different. if i understand correctly it will use near field tech (like credit cards) to encode the NFT information inside the physical statue. allowing the owner to use their app to always transfer the matching NFT of it to their wallet.
at least thats what i hope it is. else it's lame as fudge and just a gimmick.
think its the same thing? its this https://www.zhen.io/ looks like the same layout too from his pic.papaver wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 7:52 pmthink this is different. if i understand correctly it will use near field tech (like credit cards) to encode the NFT information inside the physical statue. allowing the owner to use their app to always transfer the matching NFT of it to their wallet.

ah interesting. didn't realize zhen moved to NFTs and erc721. yes, looks similar to this. last time i looked zhen wasn't tied to the eth blockchain.acidburn wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 7:56 pmthink its the same thing? its this https://www.zhen.io/ looks like the same layout too from his pic.papaver wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 7:52 pmthink this is different. if i understand correctly it will use near field tech (like credit cards) to encode the NFT information inside the physical statue. allowing the owner to use their app to always transfer the matching NFT of it to their wallet.

Anyone good at reading polygon transfers? Looks like they made no money lol
there are a couple different transactions. since it was on polygon i think you needed wrapped eth to buy the cards OR using a CC. doesn't looks like buying with MATIC was an option.acidburn wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 4:22 pmearlgreytoast wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 3:57 pmTrump is in the NFT game! this is what a crypto sale looks like. notice the movement of the wrapped eth tokens from the address receiving the NFT.

the second is the CC onramp. which is all done using the admin_mint function, i'm assuming it send the NFT to a generated wallet which you can transfer out later...

looks like the link you pasted is using admin_mint with the CC onramp.
this is actually an extremely well done drop from what i can tell. i'm a huge proponent of these CC onramps to open up the system to non-hardcore crypto users. this is def there the market needs to head to get back into a healthy state.
yea had a feeling i was reading it wrong. Thanks for this.papaver wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 9:58 pmthere are a couple different transactions. since it was on polygon i think you needed wrapped eth to buy the cards OR using a CC. doesn't looks like buying with MATIC was an option.acidburn wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 4:22 pmearlgreytoast wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 3:57 pmTrump is in the NFT game!
