I wanted to introduce everyone to the work of Mu Pan.

Mu typically works with large format pieces depicting chaotic war scenes pulling from current social and political landscapes.

You can find an extensive catalog of his works at http://www.mupan.com/

As a huge fan of Mu Pan's work, I'm excited to announce that we'll be releasing his first print release ever in the next few months. Stay tuned!

I posted his work 5-6 years ago on this site when I picked up a piece by him:
celloman85 wrote:I just bought this OG watercolor piece by artist Mu Pan. It is entitled 'Deer Hunter' and here is some background on the piece:
Deer hunter looks like some crazy fantasy piece, but it is actually talking about ww2 when Japanese army raping and massacring people there. I was going to use white deer cuz in chinese myth it is a symbol of immortal, but I chose the sika deer to have a little touch of Taiwan as well.

Also he has released one print before, so technically this will be his second print release. Still, exciting.

Woah, amazing pickup Cello! That's really cool that you have a painting from him.

Ah, my mistake. He mentioned that this would be his first. Regardless, we're very excited. :D

We'll be revealing a new Japanese mulberry washi paper with long course fibers that really compliments Mu's work. Can't wait for everyone to see it!

Mu Pan has become a recent favorite of mine. Picked up his latest piece today to add to my other grab "Love Means Never Having You To Say Sorry: Tiger".

I have to admit that those two prints are arguably the coolest pieces I own...from the art itself, to the unbelievably light paper that the art is put onto, they are incredible. The paper is so light that when the print is removed from the tube rolled, it falls nearly flat instantly.

Keep it coming Static Medium. Thank you!

Was in the process of adding these to the DB, and thought I'd share. They're from Copro Gallery's "The Ace Is Wild" exhibition in 2012
