After the holidays I'll be traveling back home with a poster tube and I'm wondering what the best way to do it is? Anybody have any experience traveling on flights with a poster tube? I'm not sending it to myself so that's not an option. I usually have a laptop bag and backpack on me. I can put it into my backpack but it obviously will be sticking out. Will that matter? Will they still let me on with it like that? Any feedback is appreciated!

I just carry it on, never had any issues. backpack, roller carry-on, and a tube. walked up to gate, scanned ticket - boarded and stored with no questions.

Attach it to your backpack and you're good to go. If space in the overheads is limited very politely ask the flight attendant if she could store it in the coat closet or in back of the last row of seats

This is what I do and have never had an issue the few times.
I'm not someone else.
